Samuel Burrows - Director, Storyteller, and Creative Content Lead.

Hey there, I’m Samuel Burrows. I’m a Toronto-based filmmaker working across long-form television, documentary, and branded short-form digital content. I’ve been making films professionally since 2007, and over the last ten years, I’ve shaped, directed, filmed, and edited more than 300 broadcast and digital productions.

I’m story-driven and always have been. I’m less interested in flash for the sake of it and more interested in whether something holds together, whether it builds and whether it carries weight. I like structure, clarity and I like when an audience feels emotionally invested in the content.

My background spans development through delivery. I’ve led large and small teams, managed complex productions, and been Showrunner on multi-episode series, but I still enjoy being hands-on. I’m comfortable directing contributors in the field, running cameras, building a visual approach with a crew, or stepping into the edit to shape pacing and tighten narrative.

Alongside broadcast work, I’ve directed branded and commercial projects that balance audience engagement with clear messaging. I understand the realities of budget, schedule, and workflow, but I approach every project the same way: Start with the story, build it properly, and make sure it lands.
